NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction)
Who is this Qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at individuals with responsibility for supervising work activities in the Construction working environment. The qualification is at Level 3 and is suitable for experienced Construction workers who have the desire and/or need to carry out activities including, identifying work methods and resources required to complete tasks safely by organising and coordinating colleagues.
Optional units give the opportunity for communicating information on work activities, allocating and monitoring the use of plant, tools and machinery, monitoring the progress of work against schedules and quality standards.
What is required from candidates?
GQA qualifications are made up of a number of units that have a credit value or credits. This qualification consists of 5 mandatory units and a group of 6 optional units. The mandatory units have a total credit value of 52 credits with a minimum of 15 credits required from the optional group the qualification has a minimum credit value of 67 credits.
Mandatory Units:
- Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
- Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
- Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
- Implementing and Maintaining Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
- Co-ordinating and Organising Work Operations in the Workplace
Optional Units:
- Allocating and Monitoring the Use of Plant, Machinery or Equipment in the Workplace
- Monitoring Progress of Work Against Schedules in the Workplace
- Confirming Work Meets Quality Standards in the Workplace
- Implementing Procedures to Support the Team’s Performance in the Workplace
- Co-ordinating and Confirming the Dimensional Control Requirements of the Work in the Workplace
- Contributing to the Circulation of Construction Related Project Information in the Workplace.
Achieving the required minimum Credits from the combination of Mandatory units and the choice of Optional units will mean the qualification has been achieved and GQA will provide the Diploma with the qualification title.
Assessment Guidance
Evidence of Performance and Competence is required. Evidence of performance should be demonstrated by activities and outcomes and should be generated in the workplace. Evidence of knowledge can be demonstrated through performance and/or by responding to questions.
